Jonathan Martin takes out shoplifter Versace

San Francisco 49ers tackle Jonathan Martin may have let Richie Incognito bully him around for a few seasons when he was playing in Miami with the Dolphins, but he’s not about to let some dude ruin his shopping experience at Versace.

So when some dude did try to ruin his shopping experience at Versace by attempting to steal something, Martin took out the shoplifter with force.

According to the story Martin told Shutdown Corner, he ran into the store’s corridor when he saw a security guard trying to take down the shoplifter (who he claims was larger than the security guard).  After arriving on the scene, he delivered five to eight punches before the dude finally stopped fighting back and surrendered.  Unfortunately, the shoplifter had a partner with him that was able to escape, but at least Martin was able to arrive in time to stop one of the criminals.

In a phone conversation with Shutdown Corner, Martin said, “I didn’t even think. I just reacted. It wasn’t till later when [my friend] said, ‘He could have had a gun.’ I didn’t even think about it. I just wanted to help.”

To our delight, the whole thing was live-tweeted, via the Twitter account of Martin himself:

Judging by the image, it looks like the dude may have been the recipient of a lot of built-up frustration stemming from years of torment at the hands of Richie Incognito.
