Montreal Canadiens Honor Victims of Paris Terror Attacks by Playing French National Anthem (Video)
Last week the world watched in horror as three terrorists brought chaos to the City of Lights. On Wednesday, two brothers* stormed the Paris office of satire magazine Charlie Hebdo and murdered 12 people. Then on Friday, while the Charlie Hebdo gunmen were engaged in a standoff with police in a Paris suburb, another terrorist murdered five more people back in Paris—one police officer and four patrons of a Kosher grocery store.
In the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks, there have been numerous displays of solidarity across the free world. One of them came from the Montreal Canadiens. Prior to Saturday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, they played the French national anthem, the Marseillaise, while the French flag was shown waving on the scoreboard.
As always, it was a classy tribute by the Canadiens organization.

*I’m not naming any of the murderers. They don’t deserve to be infamous. If you want to know their names, you can look them up for yourself.
