Will Ferrell Kicked Out Of NBA game After Smashing Pelicans Cheerleader in Face with Basketball (Video)
What’s that? Oh, that’s just a video of Hollywood funny man Will Ferrell drilling a Pelicans cheerleader in the face with a basketball in New Orleans on Wednesday night. You’ve probably seen bits and pieces of the incident online already. However, I bet you haven’t seen that angle. We literally just saw it ourselves. It seems to have been shot from the cameras on top of the backboard, and it gives a really good look.
Of course, the whole thing was staged. Ferrell didn’t really flip out and assault an NBA cheerleader. He and Mark Wahlberg were at the Pelicans-Lakers game in New Orleans on Wednesday filming a scene from a new comedy called Daddy’s Home.
Here’s another video of Ferrell drilling the cheerleader that includes some of the scripted dialogue. It was shot by somebody in the stands, and it clearly indicates that everyone in the arena knew what was about to happen. It’s hard to tell exactly what is going on in the scene, but Ferrell’s character is definitely distraught and possibly drunk:
No, Daddy’s Home is not about polygamy. The description on IMDB.com says, “When a divorced guy’s ex-wife re-marries someone way more uptight, he re-enters her life and wreaks havoc.”
I’m guessing Ferrell is the one wreaking havoc, since hitting a cheerleader in the face with a basketball sounds like havoc, and Wahlberg is the “someone way more uptight.” But it could be the other way around.
Either way, Pelicans fans got some pretty quality halftime entertainment.
