Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao Had a Courtside Chat at the Miami Heat Game Last Night (Video)
This photo has not been doctored. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao really were at the Miami Heat game last night. As far as anyone knows, it was the first time the two boxers had ever been in the same room together.
Granted, calling the American Airlines Arena a “room” is a bit of a stretch. But these guys have been stringing sports fans along for almost a decade. Everybody wants to see a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao superfight, and until recently all they have ever done is talk trash and dance around the issue. So Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao attending the same basketball game? That is genuine progress. And when the Miami Heat put them up on the video board with the suggestive caption, it might have jumpstarted negotiations.
You see, even though Floyd and Manny were not sitting near each other, they actually got together for a little chat. And according to Pac-Man, as tweeted by AP sports writer Tim Reynolds, Money gave him his personal cell phone so they could “work this fight out” themselves.
Now, it could be that Manny calls the number and finds a phone sex operator on the other end. But maybe, just maybe, this “chance” encounter will actually get Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in the ring together in 2015.
If that happens, it will be the greatest thing the Miami Heat ever did for us.
