There Was Another Malcolm Butler Interception Last Night at the 2015 Grammy Awards (Video)
Another Sunday, another Malcolm Butler interception.
Last week the New England Patriots cornerback was the hero of Super Bowl XLIX for picking off that infamous Russell Wilson slant pass at the goal line on 2nd and 1, effectively ripping the Vince Lombardi Trophy right out of the Seahawks’ hands. This week Butler and teammate Julian Edelman (who had an interesting week of his own) were at the 2015 Grammy Awards to help Josh Duhamel present the award for Best Rock Album and Butler was at it again, snatching the envelope out of Duhamel’s hand right as he was about to read the winner.
Two Sundays, two Malcolm Butler interceptions. The first was exciting and unexpected, and in 20 years sports fans will still be talking about where they were when it happened. The second was corny and thrown together at the last minute, and sports fans will forget about it 20 minutes after they watch this vine:
It was an okay idea, but the execution was a little awkward. Something tells me Edelman and Butler aren’t going to get asked to host Saturday Night Live any time soon.
