Steph Curry Got Himself a Mo’ne Davis Autograph Before the Warriors-Sixers Game (GIF)
Remember Mo’ne Davis? She was the feel-good sports story of summer 2014 after becoming the first female pitcher to win a game at the Little League World Series, and the first female pitcher to throw a shutout. Then we all learned she was also really good at basketball and hoped to one day play for the UConn Huskies.
Well, Davis’s 15 minutes of fame are not over. The Philadelphia native was at the 76ers-Warriors game at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday night, and prior to the game she got to hang out with Stephen Curry and take part in a Warriors shootaround.
Then Steph Curry, who might very well win the NBA MVP award this season, pulled a Puig and got himself a Mo’ne Davis autograph.
Must feel pretty great to have a superstar athlete ask for your autograph.
You do have to wonder what folks in Philadelphia think about Davis getting cozy with Curry and wearing a Warriors shirt, though. I mean, yes, the Warriors played in Philly until 1962. Yes, the 76ers are God-awful. And yes, Davis is just 14 years old. But will her hometown fans really let her get away with abandoning the home team? They can be pretty pugnacious.
