Leafs Coach Peter Horachek Not Impressed With Team’s ‘Give a Sh*t Meter’ (Video)
Since firing head coach Randy Carlyle and assigning Peter Horachek as the interim head coach, the Toronto Maple Leafs have gone 2-12-1. They may not be in last place at the moment, but they are headed in that direction rather quickly and it wouldn’t be a stretch to suggest that they are the worst team in the NHL right now.
With high-priced players like Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf on their roster, you’d think the team would fare a little better than that, but one of the biggest issues facing the league’s most valuable franchise is their consistent lack of effort on the ice. Simply put, their “Give a Sh*t” meter is at an all-time low at the moment, and Horachek isn’t oblivious to this fact. He talked about it following last night’s 5-4 loss to the New York Rangers:
I love the little pause before he references the “Give a Sh*t meter.” It’s almost as if he knows he shouldn’t say that word during a press conference, but he’s going to anyway.
I hope this leads to more coaches across all sports referencing their team’s “Give a Sh*t meter” during post-game press conferences.
