LeBron James on Dunk Contest: “I’m an In-Game Dunker” (Video)

LeBron James on Dunk Contest - Dwyane Wade interview

Around this time every year we take at least a few minutes to discuss why LeBron James won’t enter the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.  It happened again today when James sat down with his former Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade for an interview at All-Star Weekend in New York.  During their discussion, Wade asked James about his thoughts on taking part in the dunk contest, to which the four-time NBA MVP answered, “It’s just never been something (that’s) my flavor.”

James then went on to reiterate Wade’s notion that he’s an “in-game dunker,” and quite honestly, who are we to disagree?  Some of the in-game dunks LBJ has thrown down over his NBA career could have won him a few dunk contests on their own.  I know we all want to see what he can do above the rim without any defenders to worry about, but hasn’t he given us enough already?

You may not agree, but don’t expect that to change LeBron’s mind.

You can watch Dwyane Wade question LeBron James on dunk contest participation in the video below:
