Islanders Fan Tells Reporter About the Time Her Son Was Conceived in the Nassau Coliseum Parking Lot (Video)
The Islanders are good this year. And I don’t just mean good for the Islanders, but good for anybody.
Unfortunately, it all feels a little bitter sweet for longtime Islanders fans. They’ve watched their once-great franchise become the laughing stock of the NHL over the last 30 years. They’ve endured some truly awful seasons in the worst venue in the league—the Nassau Memorial Coliseum. Now the rebuilding is complete and the Islanders are finally exciting to watch again…the year before the team packs up and moves an hour away to Brooklyn.
Don’t get me wrong, it could be worse. Their team is moving to Brooklyn, not Quebec. They can still root for them because, technically, they’ll still be the Islanders. But fans know it will never be the same, which has them waxing nostalgic.
Just take a look at what this female Islanders fan reminisced on live TV on Monday:
Congratulations to the 32-year-old son of Joy Rosen of Long Island. Now everyone you know knows your mom and dad liked to get freaky in the parking lot after Islanders games.
On the bright side, at least now you know why your middle name is Nassau. I bet that always seemed weird to you.
