It’s been an up-and-down year for NHL ice girls. The Florida Panthers pulled the plug on the whole concept back in July (RIP Lady Panthers), apparently under the impression that the attractive women in spandex were the source of their attendance problems. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Flyers triedto pull the plug on their ice girls, but the announcement was met with “outrage” so they reinstated their squad just days later. And San Jose experienced the exact opposite: some Sharks fans were outraged when the team introduced the first ice girls crew in franchise history.
Nevertheless, despite turbulence in some markets, in others NHL ice girls are more popular than ever. So today, we present to you this list of the hottest NHL ice girls of the 2014-15 season.
Take a look.
When I first saw "Saundrine" I was like, wait, that's not a name. So I was going to make fun her her parents. But then I Googled "Saundrine" and discovered that the whole first page of results are about this Saundrine, the one who shovels snow off the ice for the Columbus Blue Jackets. So instead of making fun of her parents, I'm going to congratulate them on accurlately predicting the invention of search engines and their importance in the modern world.
25. Saundrine (Columbus Blue Jackets)
With the Islanders finally good again, a lot more people are watching Janine scrape the ice during TV timeouts than ever before.
24. Janine (New York Islanders)
In Carolina, they don't bother with the pretense of scraping the ice. Their "Storm Squad" doesn't skate. They're just cheerleaders.
23. LeAnna (Carolina Hurricanes)
I'm not sure the Flames have actually updated the page for their Big Country ice crew recently, so I don't know for sure if Britney Spears look-alike Amy is still on the squad. But she might be, so I decided to err on the side of caution and include her.
22. Amy (Calgary Flames)
What do you get when you add an "a" to the end of "Erin"? You get Erina, key member of the Anaheim Ducks Power Players.
21. Erina (Anaheim Ducks)
I don't know how many Victorias are on the Islanders ice girl crew, but Victoria R. is clearly #1 on the Victoria depth charts.
20. Victoria R. (New York Islanders)
Niki is the first of many Los Angeles Kings ice girls we'll see on this list. As you can see, she's got it all going on.
19. Niki (Los Angeles Kings)
Like what you see here? Go on over to the Lightning website and git yerself some Kori wallpaper for your work computer. You're co-workers won't think you're weird at all.
18. Kori (Tampa Bay Lightning)
The Dallas Cowboys have set the cheerleading bar pretty high. The Dallas Stars have to send an impressive squad on the ice if they want to impress their fans.
17. Madison (Dallas Stars)
The unique spelling of names is always the most amusing thing about doing cheerleader lists for me. (Aside from the babes, that is.) I assume you pronounce this one like "Mariah."
16. Mariyah (Dallas Stars)
With Arizona State and the University of Arizona both within two hours' drive, the Coyotes always have a strong pool of applicants to choose from for their Paw Patrol ice girls crew. Unfortunately, what they don't have is a proper website with a roster and bios. So we don't know who these two stunning Paw Patrol members actually are.
15. Unknown Coyotes Paw Patrol Members
Chanelle here is one of four in the top 25 for the Ducks. They're tied with the Kings for most ice girls on this list.
14. Chanelle (Anaheim Ducks)
I could have split this two up into separate entries, but why? It's hard to pick one over the other, and they're together in this photo. It's perfect.
13. Julianna and Andie (Chicago Blackhawks)
Honestly, now that I'm writing this, I feel like Alexis here could easily be ranked higher. But hey, 12th ain't bad.
12. Alexis (Tampa Bay Lightning)
Anessa here makes it two for the Los Angeles Kings, the NHL's premier ice girls squad. That means there are still two more (even hotter) Kings ice girls to come.
11. Anessa (Los Angeles Kings)
Who would have thought you'd find a woman like this in the middle of Ohio? I thought they were all in Los Angeles trying to get in movies.
10. Melanie (Columbus Blue Jackets)
I've always hated the Ducks because they were founded by Disney and named after a fictional hockey team from a kids movie. That said, I've got nothing against Ashely here. Nothing at all.
9. Ashley (Anaheim Ducks)
Not only is Kelsey here one of just two representatives from the Oilers ice crew on this list. She's also one of only two reasons to attend an Edmonton Oilers game this season. (Because the Oilers suck.)
The other reason? Well...
8. Kelsey (Edmonton Oilers)
The Oilers can't draft legit NHL prospects for sh*t, but damn can they find incredible women to clear snow of their ice.
7. Jessica (Edmonton Oilers)
"Hey babe, let's name her Britney, but spell it 'Brittnei' so she'll have to correct people her entire life." –Brittnei's mom or dad
6. Brittnei (Anaheim Ducks)
This is Kendal. Incredibly, she's the second-hottest member of the Kings ice crew.
Makes you wonder who's number one, right?
5. Kendal (Los Angeles Kings)
I always assumed most of the Dallas Stars ice girls were Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders rejects. But now that I've met Rachel, here, I know that can't be the case. She's just as hot as any member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
4. Rachel (Dallas Stars)
Whoa. Bianca makes me hate the Bruins a little bit less.
3. Bianca (Boston Bruins)
This is Kendall with two Ls. She's not to be confused with Anaheim's Kendal with one L.
2. Kendall (Dallas Stars)
The hottest ice girl in the NHL? That would be the Kings' Ally Melo, hands down. She was also on season 23 of The Amazing Race. You should follow her on Twitter.
1. Ally (Los Angeles Kings)
