Feyenoord Fans Throw Inflatable Banana at Roma’s Gervinho (Video)
Soccer fans sure do suck sometimes, but after what has transpired over the past couple of weeks, I have come to the conclusion that Feyenoord fans are the absolute worst.
The Dutch side is currently taking on Roma in the round of 32 at the UEFA Europa League. Ahead of last week’s first leg match at the Stadio Olimpico, the Feyenoord fans clashed with Rome police after they had trashed numerous areas and landmarks in the Italian capital, including the Spanish Steps and the Barcaccia fountain.
Today, the two teams are playing the second leg of their Europa League match-up in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and the Feyenoord fans continued their douchebag ways when they threw a giant inflatable banana in the direction of Roma’s Gervinho (who is black) during the first half of the game.
Both sides were warned, and at one point in the second half, with Roma leading 1-0 and Feyenoord playing a man down after Mitchell te Vrede was shown a red card, the game had to be stopped because the referees feared things were getting out of hand.
The match has since been resumed, and Feyenoord has scored an equalizer, tying the game and the aggregate at 2-2. That should make for an interesting conclusion to this contest.
