FSU’s Xavier Rathan-Mayes Scores 30 Points in 4:38, Noles Still Lose (Video)
Xavier Rathan-Mayes. Remember that name. (You’ve already forgotten it, haven’t you? It’s ok. It’s a tough name to remember.)
Xavier put on nothing less than a legendary performance last night, scoring 30 points in 4 minutes and 38 seconds while trying to guide his Florida State Seminoles back to victory against Miami. Sadly, the Noles came up four points short, but I’m hoping that Xavier Rathan-Mayes isn’t blaming himself.
To get a sense of what this guy did in such a short time, we’ve got the play-by-play sheet, which documents his performance:
Oh, and here’s a video of the performance. You’ll want to watch this:
Yikes. That’s a lot of action by one guy. He also assisted on 8 of the points that weren’t scored by him. And 26 of those points were consecutive. That’s 6 3’s, 2 layups, and 4 free throws.
MAN, that has to be frustrating. If he’d only gotten two more buckets in that run…What a slacker.
Seriously, our heart goes out to Xavier. Hopefully this serves him well in any pro consideration. Occasionally, performances like this are flukes, but now he’ll have quite an audience to determine that going forward.
