Alex Ovechkin Wipes Out While Celebrating 40th Goal of the Season (Video)
Alex Ovechkin is playing for a new coach in a completely new system this season. That often causes problems for one-dimensional players. However, Ovechkin’s production this year has remained the same. He’s still leading the league in goals.
You can give the credit for this achievement to the coach, Barry Trotz, for making his system fit around the NHL’s top sniper. Or you can give the credit to Ovechkin, for finding a way to thrive under any circumstances. Either way, it’s an impressive achievement.
On Sunday, the Washington Capitals superstar reached the 40-goal plateau for the seventh time in his 10-year NHL career. He did it against the Toronto Maple Leafs, which kind of cheapens the achievement. But the Great 8 still celebrated—and Karma had its revenge.
Watch as Ovechkin wipes out and falls on his butt:
Haha Alex Ovechkin. That’s what you get for celebrating a goal against the hapless Leafs.
