Stephen A Smith Questions Chip Kelly Moves, Suggests Racism? (Video)

Stephen A Smith questions Chip Kelly

Did Stephen A Smith call Chip Kelly a racist?  First, the backstory.

It started on today’s edition of ESPN’s First Take, when Stephen A Smith questions Chip Kelly and the Eagles’ decision to let players like LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, and DeSean Jackson go, while keeping players like Riley Cooper around.  During their conversation, Smith made comments like, “Chip Kelly makes decisions over the last couple of years that, dare I say, leave a few brothers feeling uncomfortable,” and “I’m always in Philly…You got people walking the street, and hell with it, you got brothers walking the street going like ‘What’s up with Chip?'”

After listening to that, I can see how one could argue that Stephen A Smith didn’t call Chip Kelly a racist, but he sure does seem to be implying it.

According to Smith, however, that’s not the case at all.

Appearing on The Stephen A Smith Show on Sirius XM Mad Dog Radio moments later, Smith addressed the backlash he had been receiving on Twitter from those claiming he called Chip Kelly a racist. We won’t spoil the rant for you. Have a listen:

There you have it. When it comes to the issue of whether or not he called Chip Kelly a racist, Stephen A Smith says he “did no such thing.” However, he is “very uncomfortable” with what he’s “seeing from Chip Kelly.”

Thanks for clearing that up, Stephen A. Now I’m even more confused.
