Giant Alligator Invades Florida Golf Course (Photos)
You’d think having a giant alligator invade your golf course would be bad for business, wouldn’t you? Well, not according to management at the Myakka Pines Golf Course in Englewood, Florida. They prefer to promote their giant gators, and according to general manager Mickie Zada, they encourage their members to take pictures of the reptiles that can often be seen taking leisurely strolls through their course.
A couple of course members did just that when they saw this beast roaming around the green on the seventh hole:
It that thing for real? Or is it a photoshop? Zada laughs at such skepticism, claiming it’s not even the biggest gator she’s ever seen on the course:
“We think this gator is 12 or 13 feet,” she said. “We had one that lived here for years, his name was Big George, who was probably 15 feet long.”
She also claims that it would be almost impossible to play 18 holes on a sunny day and not see an alligator. So if you’re not a fan of having your round interrupted by reptile crossings, steer clear of the Myakka Pines Golf Course.
