The Harlem Globetrotters Recruited Mo’ne Davis to Be Their Point Guard (Video)
Last summer the world fell in love with Mo’ne Davis, who became the first girl to earn a win and pitch a shutout at the Little League World Series.
The world hasn’t fallen out of love with her yet. She made the cover of Sports Illustrated in August, threw out the first pitch at Dodgers Stadium and gave her autograph to Yasiel Puig in September, gave her autograph to likely NBA MVP Steph Curry in February, and then five days later played in the 2015 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game…where she schooled Kevin Hart.
Now there’s this. On Tuesday night, in her home town of Philadelphia, the Harlem Globetrotters recruited Mo’ne Davis to be their starting point guard. She was supposed to play for the Generals, of course, but you know how these things go.
Take a look:
I’m sure there are some people out there—lonely, cynical people—who are tired of these Mo’ne Davis appearances. But seriously, just think about how much all this attention must mean to little girls who love playing sports, but usually have to sit back and watch the boys get all the attention. To them, Mo’ne Davis is a rock star. And rightly so.
