AHL Player Scores Incredible Backhand, Lacrosse-Style Goal (Video)

Kael Mouillierat backhand lacrosse-style goal

This goal won’t make it into the group of finalists for “NHL Goal of the Year” honors, but that’s only because it didn’t take place during an NHL game, which is not surprising. ┬áThere’s no way an NHL defenseman would allow a player to get away with scoring a lacrosse-style goal on them, let alone a backhand lacrosse-style goal.

Kael Mouillierat, who scored the highlight reel goal, has played six games with the NHL’s New York Islanders this season, but his backhand lacrosse-style goal took place during an AHL contest between his Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Binghamton Senators.

Watch closely, as it happens quickly:

That goal was the first of seven for Bridgeport during their 7-1 victory on Sunday. And it was easily their most impressive.
