The Fonz Celebrates Wichita State Win by Flashing The Shocker (Pics)
Kentucky isn’t the only school in the Sweet 16 with a celebrity fan. As of Saturday, when No. 7 Wichita State knocked off No. 2 Kansas, the Shockers now have The Fonz on their side.
How did this come to be? How did a college in the middle of Kansas win over the coolest dude in television history?
According to ESPN, Henry Winkler‘s son is best buds with Theodore Bressman, a 30-year-old Hollywood screenwriter and the guy on the far left in the photo above. Bressman, though a New York native and Harvard grad, has been a Shockers fan his whole life because his mother is from Wichita and his grandma was the chairperson of the Board of Trustees. He has watched the Shockers’ first two games at the 2015 NCAA Tournament at Henry Winkler’s house, and apparently his passion for Wichita State has rubbed off on Winkler. Because by the time the Shockers had knocked off the Jayhawks, The Fonz was wearing their hat and flashing The Shocker.
Of course, you have to think Winkler does not know what “the shocker” hand gesture really is, or else the 69-year-old wouldn’t have been comfortable doing it in a photograph that would be disseminated across the internet.
Or who knows, maybe he’s just a really cool, sexually liberated dude.
Either way, it kind of creeps me out a little bit.
