Here’s Another One for the Anthony Bennett Blooper Reel (Video)
It usually takes a few years before people start referring to a No. 1 NBA Draft pick as a flop. However, Anthony Bennet‘s rookie season with the Cavaliers was so bad, everyone dispensed with the customary waiting period and branded the top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft a flop midway through the year.
Of course, Bennett was “supposed” to be better this year after having laser eye surgery to correct his vision. But really, nothing has changed except his team. He’s playing 15 minutes a game off the bench for the T-Wolves this year, averaging 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds. Meanwhile Andrew Wiggins, fellow Canadian and the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft, is averaging 16.3 points per game.
Making matters worse, the 6’8″, 250-pound Bennett now seems to think he’s a point guard who can slash through the lane with sick moves, drawing defenders toward him before dishing off to teammates in the low post.
Obviously, he cannot do that:
Add that one to the Anthony Bennett blooper reel. This guy is the anti-Curry.
You gotta love the reaction from Minnesota coach Flip Saunders, too. He’s just like, dude, WTF?
