Watch Andrew Wiggins Dunk Over Seven-Footer Omer Asik and Be Glad You’re Not a Cavs Fan (Video)
Andrew Wiggins has had a phenomenal rookie season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, recording 16.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. And he only turned 20 in February! However, if those stats aren’t enough to convince you that this kid is the real deal, this Andrew Wiggins dunk over 7’0″ New Orleans Pelicans center Omer Asik ought to do it.
On Monday night, the rookie snuck away from the defender guarding him at the three-point perimeter, took a pass from Zach LaVine, and went right to the hoop. He was met there by Asik, but it was already too late. Wiggins went up into the air and used his wizard powers to defy gravity and just hang there until Asik went down. Then he dunked the ball on top of his head.

Yep, Andrew Wiggins is really good at basketball. He’s not yet a complete player, and this year Kevin Love has ultimately been more valuable. But you still have to wonder if the Cavs regret making that trade. Love has been pouting about who-knows-what all year and may (emphasis: may) opt to leave Cleveland via free agency. Meanwhile, Wiggins looks like he’ll be dominating the league in two or three years.
