Flames-Canucks End Game 2 With Line-Brawl (Video)
Game 2 of a seven-game playoff series is often the boiling point, as both teams have already had a game to get acquainted and develop hatred for each other. That certainly seems to be the case in the Western Conference first-round series between the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames, as the two Canadian clubs engaged in a line brawl with just over a minute remaining in the Canucks’ Game 2 victory on Saturday at Rogers Arena.
A total of 132 penalty minutes were handed out, including seven game misconducts—three to the Flames’ Deryk Engelland, one to Matt Stajan, and one each to the Canucks’ Derek Dorsett, Dan Hamhuis and Brad Richardson). Calgary head coach Bob Hartley has also been fined $50,000 for violating “By-Law 17.3 (a) for conduct prejudicial to or against the welfare of the League.”
