The Knicks Got Screwed by the 2015 NBA Draft Lottery and Twitter Thought It Was Hilarious (Video + Pics)

knicks gm reacts to 2015 nba draft lottery

The New York Knicks sent general manager Steve Mills to be their representative at the 2015 NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night, which was certainly a logical choice. But since when do the Knicks do things logically? Personally I wish they had sent superfan Spike Lee. His reaction when NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum announced that the Knicks got the 4th pick in the draft would have been epic.

You see, getting the 4th pick sounds pretty good, but it’s actually a huge blow to the team. The Knicks were the second-worst team in basketball this year. As such they had the second-best chance (19%) of getting the 1st pick, which was supposed to help make up for all the pain and suffering they caused their fans. But instead they got No. 4, which means they’re guaranteed nothing. They could get lucky and draft the next Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul, No. 4 picks in 2008 and 2005 respectively. But because it’s the Knicks, who cannot catch even the slightest of breaks, they’ll probably wind up with the next Tyrus Thomas or Shaun Livingston, No. 4 picks in 2006 and 2004 respectively.

That’s why Knicks fans attending the 2015 NBA Draft Lottery reacted the way they did when the announcement was made.

And that’s why Twitter reacted the way it did.

Meanwhile, the T-Wolves get the No. 1 pick, who will play alongside NBA Rookie of the Year and last year’s No. 1 pick, Andrew Wiggins.

Life just isn’t fair, Knicks fans.
