Joey Votto walks a lot. During each of the four season from 2010 to 2013, he finished within the top 10 in the Majors in walks, including a league-high 135 base-on-balls in 2013.
Thanks to all of that, the Cincinnati Reds first baseman has been able to develop a reputation for being among the league’s best when it comes to taking free bases. And on Sunday, he proved just how strong that reputation is when he took first base after just three balls.
