Joey Gallo Homers, Shines in Major League Debut (Video)

Joey Gallo Major League debut - Gatorade Shower

Filling the shoes of a player like Adrian Beltre (sprained left thumb) can be tough, but Texas Rangers top-prospect Joey Gallo didn’t make it seem that way when he made his highly-anticipated Major League debut tonight against the White Sox at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Gallo was called up earlier in the day from the Rangers’ Double-A affiliate in Frisco, where he was batting .314/.425/.636 with nine home runs and 31 RBI over the course of 34 games. And in his first test against Major League pitching, he provided a glimpse of the type of power and production he could bring to the majors, recording a homer, double, single, walk, strikeout, and four RBIs in five plate appearances during a 15-2 win.

Here’s a look at Joey Gallo’s first Major League hit and his first two RBIs during his first career at bat:

And here’s his first Major League home run, which came in just his second Major League at bat:

And, of course, his first Gatorade shower:

I’m sure Joey Gallo will experience many more of each of these during what should be a long, successful, and entertaining Major League career
