Justin Rose Bunker Shank Hits Memorial Spectator in the Head (Video)

In golf, there’s never a good time to shank a ball. However, some times are definitely worse than others. And the 72nd and final hole of a major tournament when you have a share of the lead is one of those worse times.

Just ask Justin Rose. He went in to the final hole at the Memorial on Sunday tied with David Lingmerth for the lead. However, his tee shot landed in a sand bunker, then he shanked another shot, drilling a spectator (the guy in the blue shirt with the yellow arrow pointed at him) right in the head.

Take a look:

Fortunately the guy who took the Justin Rose bunker shank to the head didn’t suffer the same fate as the Red Sox fan who took the Brett Lawrie bat to the head. He was able to shake it off and stay to see the conclusion of the tournament.

It was quite a conclusion, too. Rose also shook off his bunker shank to get up and down from the rough and force a playoff with Lingmerth.

Of course, Rose lost to Lingmerth in a playoff. Which I guess was maybe a little bit of karma.
