Corey Crawford made 24 crucial saves during the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but it’s the one stick save made by Hawks defenseman Brent Seabrook that may have saved the Hawks’ season.
It came with 1:16 remaining in the third period and the Lightning goalie pulled for an extra attacker. Bolts sniper Steven Stamkos appeared to have an empty net to shoot at from just above the crease, but his attempt at a game-tying goal was thwarted by the blade of Seabrook’s stick. Tampa would continue to pile on the pressure for the remaining 75 seconds, but the Hawks held on, tying the series up at 2-2.
