FIFA Exec Jack Warner Now Accused of Stealing $750K in Haiti Earthquake Relief Money
Things just keep getting worse for Jack Warner and the other corrupt FIFA officials currently being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Earlier this week we learned even more details about a $10 million bribe from South African officials, most of which ended up in Warner’s bank accounts. Now comes a report that Warner basically stole $750,000 in Haiti earthquake relief money in 2010.
According to the BBC, Warner was put in charge of distributing aid money from FIFA and the Korean Football Association after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the island nation of Haiti in 2010. However, instead of giving the money to charities doing work on the ground, he just put it into his own accounts.
In other words, Jack Warner, already a millionaire many times over, stole money intended to help earthquake victims in one of the poorest nations on earth. Because he is a piece of garbage.
I pray the U.S. is able to work out an extradition deal with Trinidad and Tobago before Warner dies of natural causes. It will be very cathartic to see him led off to jail in handcuffs.
