Blackhawks Win Stanley Cup With 2-0 Victory (Videos)
For the second time in three years and the third time in six years, the Chicago Blackhawks are Stanley Cup Champions.
It wasn’t easy for the Hawks this time around. After disposing of Nashville in six games and sweeping the Minnesota Wild in four, Chicago needed two multiple-overtime victories to get past the Anaheim Ducks in seven games. And in the finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, they found themselves trailing the series, 2-1, but they strung together three straight wins, highlighted by tonight’s cup-clinching victory in Game 6.
After a scoreless first period, Conn Smythe Trophy-winning defenseman Duncan Keith opened the scoring in the second by driving hard to the net and burying his own rebound past Lightning goalie Ben Bishop:
