Check Out the WWE’s Emotional Dusty Rhodes Tribute (Video)
Pro wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes didn’t spend much time in the WWE. “The American Dream” got his start with the National Wrestling Alliance in a bygone era when the WWE (then known as the WWF) was not the supreme global wrestling behemoth it is today. He then spent about four years with Jim Crockett Promotions, the precursor to the WCW, before joining the WWF for only two years and moving back to the WCW.
That said, in 2000 the WWE bought out the WCW. Then, in 2005, Dusty Rhodes signed a WWE legends contract, meaning his personal history was now WWE history.
Why do I bring all this up? Well, as you know, Dusty Rhodes passed away last week after a battle with cancer, and on Sunday the WWE ran a moving Dusty Rhodes tribute at the start of their “Money in the Bank” pay-per-view event. So I wanted to provide a little context.
Take a look:
Am I just old, or do they just not make ’em like they used to? RIP, Dusty.
