Jameis Winston, Wearing Shorts, Denied Entry into Tampa Club
Being the #1 pick in the draft opens a lot of doors for athletes. However, if you’re looking to experience the vibrant Tampa nightlife scene, being that city’s new star quarterback won’t do you a damn thing if you’re not dressed well. Attempting to gain access to Tampa’s Blue Martini, Jameis Winston was sent away after failing to live up to the dress code by wearing shorts.
It’s hard to blame the club for turning him away, when the policy is posted RIGHT outside the joint on a sign. It’s also very easy to blame Jameis Winston for this, because he was a guy that was looking to go to a nightclub in shorts. I’m sure this happens all the time, but a) it’s tacky, and b) the last time we heard of someone wearing athletic gear in a club, it was Plaxico Burress in track pants, and he shot himself in the damn leg.
You can see in the above picture he’s talking to the doorman, but to no avail. One of the managers said to TMZ, “It was nothing personal. He was not allowed inside because he did not meet the standards of the dress code.” That sounds fair.
Also, take off that damn baseball hat, Jameis.
