Klay Thompson Throws Shade on LeBron with “Best Player in the World” Quip at Post-Game Press Conference (Video)
Most reasonable people will concede that LeBron James didn’t say anything untrue when he said he was still the “best player in the world” following Cleveland’s loss to Golden State in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. No offense to Andre Iguodala, but all but the most ardent LeBron-haters and euphoria-blinded Warriors fans could see that James was the best player in the NBA Finals.
The timing of LeBron’s claim? That was a bit more questionable. Sure, you could argue that LeBron was trying to draw all the attention to himself so the rest of his team could focus on winning basketball games. But even if that was the case, you could also argue that all it really did was attract more attention and distract the team further.
It sure as hell served as bulletin board material for the Warriors. Klay Thompson made that much clear on Tuesday night during his post-championship press conference with Steph Curry, saying it feels good to play on the best team in the world with the best player in the world.
Somebody get LeBron a cardigan or something. It can get a little chilly in the shade.
