Nike Made an Ad About Cleveland’s NBA Finals Loss
Now that the players and fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers have had a week or so to lick their wounds and recover from an exhausting NBA Finals, Nike, the longtime brand of LeBron James, has issued an ad based on Cleveland’s loss. It’s kind of weird, because it’s not congratulatory for their effort, and it seems to list the reasons why Cleveland wouldn’t win the NBA Finals.
Then, it reminds everyone that this is Cleveland we’re talking about, where nothing good ever seems to happen for its fans.
I mean, it’s not like the world needed to be reminded of that just days after their ill-fated NBA Finals run. But Nike’s choosing to remind us. Also, it’s not like the entire Cavs organization died in a plane crash. They lost the NBA Finals, making them the second-best team in the NBA. It’s ok.
Here’s the Tweet with the whole ad:

And remember: Every time the Lakers or Clippers win, it’s not surprising, because that IS Hollywood.
