Derek Carr isn’t among the NFL’s top quarterbacks at the moment. Far from it. But the Oakland Raider did have an impressive rookie season in 2014, leading all rookie quarterbacks in yards (3,270) and touchdowns (21), while throwing just 12 interceptions.
Those are pretty good numbers for any first-year quarterback, let alone one that had to make do with the Raiders’ offensive weapons (or lack thereof). One reason for his success was his strong arm, which he recently put on display in a series of Instagram videos following a private offseason workout.
