Matt Stonie Beats Joey Chestnut in Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
Joey Chestnut entered the 2015 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest as the favorite after winning the last eight competitions on the Fourth of July. But in a stunning turn of events, he was upset by the world’s No. 2 ranked competitive eater, Matt Stonie.
Chestnut was able to eat an impressive 60 hot dogs in ten minutes, but that left him two short of Stonie’s 62. As a result, the 23-year-old native of San Jose, California earned the $10,000 championship prize and the coveted yellow mustard belt.
