Michael Irvin Jr Commits to Miami, Just Like His Hall of Fame Dad
The apple does not fall far from the tree. At least not when the apple can choose where to land and the tree is a Hall of Fame wide receiver who made millions of dollars playing football.
What the hell am I talking about? I am talking about Michael Irvin Jr following in the footsteps of his dad, Cowboys great Michael Irvin Sr.
First, when Michael Irvin Jr started playing football, he played wide receiver (and tight end), just like his dad. Then he went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, just like his dad.
Now Michael Irvin Jr has committed verbally to play football for the University of Miami Hurricanes, just like his dad. The only difference is that Jimmy Johnson isn’t the coach.
“It’s what I’ve always wanted to do,” Irvin Jr said. “[Dad] was proud of me when I told him of my decision and he thinks it will work out for me just like it did for him going there.”
So will Michael Irvin Jr one day win Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys? Probably not. But you never know.
My advice, though? Don’t do everything like your dad, Michael. Maybe lay off the cocaine and hookers.
