Plaxico Burress Twitter Rant Accuses Nick Saban of Being a Hypocrite (Tweets)

plaxico burress twitter rant

This week at SEC media day, Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban grabbed headlines and prompted a Plaxico Burress Twitter rant when he spoke about an aspect of the NFL Draft process he does not like.

You see, Saban doesn’t think NFL draft grades should be handed out to underclassmen until the season is completely over. He thinks that knowing where they stand—and therefore how much they stand to earn—affects how they play the remainder of the games. And he seems to think this may have had something to do with the Tide’s 42-35 loss to Ohio State in the CFP Championship Game.

Saban’s right about one thing. If I got my draft grade before the end of the season and saw that I was in line to get selected in the fist round of the NFL draft and earn millions of dollars, there’s no way in hell I’d risk that to go out and play for free. If I got hurt, it’s not like my coach would give me a chunk of his $7 million salary to make up for it.

I’m not the only one to take issue with Saban’s comments, though. Plaxico Burress played for Saban at Michicagn State from 1997 to 1999—right up until Saban ditched the Spartans for LSU—and he really let his former coach have it.

Check it out:

I never thought I’d find myself agreeing with a guy who shot himself in the leg, but this Plaxico Burress Twitter rant is pretty much on point.
