Bills WR Marquise Goodwin Wins Long Jump Silver Medal at Pan Am Games
Being a two sport-athlete is nothing new, but I think Marquise Goodwin should get extra points for managing to keep his moonlighting such a well-guarded secret. The Bills WR got second place in the Pan Am Games long jump competition, mustering up a distance of 8.27, but succumbing to the eventual winner, who tallied 8.54.
Of course, Goodwin didn’t come out of nowhere. He qualified and participated in the 2012 London Olympics, but hadn’t done much in the way of track events since then, opting to focus on football. But he was able to find some time in his schedule to accommodate the event in Toronto, since Bills activities don’t begin until July 30th.
His focus better shift quickly, though, because he will be competing for a spot on the roster, and it’s likely that the Bill coaches won’t care how many long jump contests he won during this off-season.
