WWE Signs Eight-Year-Old Cancer Patient “Drax Shadow” to Contract on “Monday Night Raw” (Videos)
The WWE is really on a roll when it comes to feel-good stories.
A few weeks ago they teamed with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to make dreams come true for an inspirational little kid battling a serious kidney condition. This week they did it again for an eight-year-old cancer patient.
This latest story started back in May, when an eight-year-old named Elijah Mainville submitted an adorable audition tape for the WWE’s Tough Enough reality show.
When the WWE saw it, they decided to make Elijah’s dreams come true. So Triple H and Stephanie McMahon invited him and his family to come sign a contract in the ring at Monday Night Raw on August 3 in San Jose.
Well, August 3 was Monday. And if you happened to catch Raw, then you know Elijah signed his contract and unveiled his official WWE ring name—Drax Shadow.

I’m assuming Elijah had some help with his catch phrase. That seems a bit too clever for an eight-year-old. But it was adorable nonetheless.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—well done, WWE.
