John Daly Puts Three Balls and a Club Into Lake Michigan at PGA Championship (Video)
The 2015 PGA Championship is currently taking place at the Whistling Straits golf course in Wisconsin. This links-style course is best-known for its over-1000 bunkers, but another key feature regarding the layout is its placement along a two-mile stretch of Lake Michigan—which is in-play on eight of the course’s 18 holes.
This is something that most of the golfers would prefer to ignore, but John Daly seemed to have a difficult time doing that while playing the par-3 7th hole during Friday’s second round.
It began with his first tee shot, which landed in the drink. He did the same with his second tee shot. And again with his third. Finally, on his fourth attempt, he was able to keep his ball in play. His golf club, on the other hand, was not as fortunate, as the 1991 Wanamaker Trophy winner tossed it into the lake, where it was later retrieved by some lucky kid on a boat.
Daly would go on to record a 10…on a par-3.
That’s one way to free up your weekend. You can watch the entire debacle for yourself below:
