Jon Stewart Turns Heel at SummerSlam, Hits John Cena with a Chair So Seth Rollins Could Win (Video)
You knew the WWE had something good planned for Jon Stewart‘s turn as host of SummerSlam 2015. But nobody saw this coming. At least, not before hand.
On Sunday night, after spending months establishing a feud between the former Daily Show host and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Jon Stewart suddenly and inexplicably turned heel.
While Rollins and United States Champion John Cena were lying on the mat, having beaten each other up in their title-for-title match, Stewart came running in from back stage carrying a metal folding chair. However, after intimating that he was going to whack Rollins with it, Stewart decided to whack Cena instead. And because, by some stroke of luck, the referee didn’t see Stewart run into the ring and whack John Cena with a folding chair, Rollins wound up with the double championship.
Take a look:
In hindsight, of course, this all makes perfect sense. Jon Stewart is a lifelong pro wrestling fan. And what pro wrestling fan wouldn’t want to turn heel and hit a guy with a folding chair?
That said, few would have expected Stewart to get so physical. After all, the guy spent the entire first half of the evening trolling Brock Lesnar for beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30.

And it would appear as though his WWE story arc is far from over.
