This 1-3-1 Put-Out By The Mets Is All Sorts of Awesome (Video)
The New York Mets have been pretty awful for the past six years, and during that time they’ve provided us with some appropriately awful lowlights.
However, this season they seemed to have turned things around, as they currently sit in first-place in the NL East with a 71-56 record—6.5 games clear of the second-place Washington Nationals. And in addition to trading their losing records in for a winning one, they’ve also traded in the lowlights for some highlights.
The latest of those highlights came from last night’s 9-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, as relief pitcher Carlos Torres (who also picked up the win on the evening) used a backheel kick and some great hustle to finish off one of the most impressive 1-3-1 put-outs you’ll ever see.

Quick shout-out to Daniel Murphy, whose quick reaction and accurate backhand flip to first certainly deserve some credit for this remarkable 1-3-1 put-out.
Great stuff, Mets.
