NYC Teacher Arrested After Drone Crashes US Open (Video)

Drone Crashes US Open

Daniel Verry probably thought it would be hilarious to fly his drone over Arthur Ashe Stadium during Thursday night’s second-round action at the US Open. Well he’s probably not laughing anymore after his drone crashed into the seats, leading to his arrest for reckless endangerment and operating a drone in a New York City public park outside of a prescribed area early.

The 26-year-old teacher was found at a Marina across from Citi Field following the incident. He was arrested, but later released with a ticket to appear in court on September 16.

Thankfully, no one was injured when the drone crashed into the stands during a match between Flavia Pennetta and Monica Niculescu.
