JT Barrett Replaces Struggling Cardale Jones, Throws TD (Video)
It must be nice to be Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer. When one of his Heisman Trophy nominee quarterbacks is struggling, he can simply replace him with another potential Heisman winner.
That’s the scenario Meyer was faced with during the Buckeyes’ contest against Northern Illinois today, as Cardale Jones was replaced by JT Barrett after throwing two interceptions, and Barrett made his coach look like a genius by throwing for a game-tying 26-yard touchdown just two drives later:
That evened the score at 10-10, and OSU has since taken a 20-10 lead, although Barrett himself hasn’t been great aside from his touchdown pass, completing just 8 of his first 14 attempts for 75 yards and an interception.
With one quarter still left to play, who knows? Maybe we’ll actually get to see Braxton Miller under center again.
