Troy Aikman Was Pretty Disgusted by That Cowboys-Eagles Game (Videos)
The Eagles shocked the NFL this offseason by trading top running back LeSean McCoy to Buffalo for Kiko Alonso, then signing free agent running back DeMarco Murray away from the arch rival Cowboys. It was a move that, to a lot of people, just didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Why get rid of one franchise player just to go and sign another?
Regardless of Chip Kelly‘s reasons, though, one thing was certain. Those transactions were going to make the two Eagles-Cowboys games must-watch football. DeMarco Murray playing against the Cowboys in an Eagles jersey? That’s just too good.
Unfortunately, if you happened to watch the first Eagles-Cowboys game of this season on Sunday, then you realize the game did not live up to the hype.
Actually, no. It didn’t just not live up to the hype. With just 30 points, 585 yards of total offense, five turnovers, a blocked punt, and a major injury, the game was absolutely awful. It was just sloppy, painstakingly boring football.
It was so bad, in fact, that poor Troy Aikman just could not hide his disgust.
Here’s Aikman venting his frustration late in the 4th quarter (and Joe Buck chiming in with a pretty good zinger):
And here’s Aikman again a few minutes later:
Way to tell it like it is, Troy.
