Incredible Kevin Kiermaier Throw Tops 100 MPH, Beats Runner by 10 Feet (Video)
Who has the best outfield arm in baseball? Some might say it belongs to Yoenis Cespedes. Others might argue for Jose Bautista. And more than a few would probalby insist the best outfield arm is connected to the shoulder of Yasiel Puig. And those are all good choices. But they’re wrong. The best outfield arm in baseball belongs to Kevin Kiermaier.
That’s right. Kevin Kiermaier. The 25-year-old started 147 games in center field for the Tampa Bay Rays this year, and he led all MLB center fielders with 15 assists.
How good is that? Well, only two other players has more than nine. So pretty good.
Kiermaier’s most recent assist might be his most impressive yet. With the Rays up 2-1 in the top of the 7th against the Marlins on Thursday, with two outs and runners on first and second, Ichiro hit a single up the middle that would score a run probably 97% of the time. However, Kiermaier fielded it cleanly and fired a 100 MPH laser beam to home plate, beating the runner by 10 feet.
Take a look:
If the Rays ever run out of pitchers and need a position player to take the mound, I think I know who’s going to get the call.
