Mets Fans Boo The Heck Out Of Chase Utley (Videos)
The Los Angeles Dodgers may have saved Chase Utley from the wrath of Matt Harvey by not starting him during Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday, but they couldn’t shield him from the wrath of thousands of Mets fans and their deafening boos during pre-game introductions.
Utley was suspended by the league for two games after he broke the leg of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada with a hard slide into second base during Game 2 on Saturday, but his decision to appeal that ruling meant the Dodgers second baseman was present at Citi Field for Monday’s game. That gave Mets fans the opportunity to let him know how they felt about his dirty play, and they made the most of that opportunity:
Here’s what it sounded like from the stands:

And with the Mets up big midway through the game, “We Want Utley” chants could be heard echoing throughout the stadium:

As for Tejada, he was also in attendance to watch the Mets cruise to their 13-7 victory, and a 2-1 series lead. And prior to the game, we was the recipient of quite the ovation from the home fans:
Game 4 is set for Tuesday. Will Utley be there? Will he be in the starting line-up? All I can tell you is that his presence will only make this must-see battle between Clayton Kershaw and Steven Matz that much more interesting.
