Medic Drops Stretcher While Carrying Injured Player During Greek Soccer Game (Video)
During a Greek second-division soccer game on Sunday, a medic carrying an injured player off the field dropped the stretcher and fell on top of the guy. Twice.
With Ergotelis up 1-0 on AEL Larissa with roughly 23 minutes to play on Sunday, Ergotelis player Leonardo Koutris suffered some kind of injury, so the ref called out the medics to removed the guy on a stretcher.
Now, this is standard practice in soccer. They do it to get guys off the field so the games can get started again. It doesn’t mean the guy broke his neck or something.
That said, if you’re the medic, you still don’t want to slam the guy on the stretcher, then drop him twice and fall on top of him. But that’s what Mr. Butterfingertopoulos did. And he did not seem very shook up about it.
Take a look:
Of course, it’s not hard to see what’s going on here. AEL Larissa was the home team. Leonardo Koutris’ team was up 1-0, he was taking his sweet time getting up after the injury, and the medic didn’t like it. So the medic made sure his trip off the field was as unpleasant as possible.
Personally, I think this is awesome. They should do it to every flopper.
As for the rest of the game, well, guess what? Larissa came back and won 2-1 with two late goals. I guess they have the medic to thank.
