WWE Honors Victims of Paris Terror Attacks with Moment of Silence Before Monday Night Raw (Video)
It always feels weird to carry on with every day life after a tragedy like the one that occurred in Paris last Friday. This is especially in the world of sports, because wins and losses all seem so trivial during times of crisis.
However, the old axiom is true. If we stop living our lives after a terrorist attack, the terrorists win. So we carry on, even with sports. We just take a moment to acknowledge the elephant in the room before we do.
How do we do that? With a good old-fashioned moment of silence, of course. That’s what the NFL did to honor the victims of the Paris terror attacks before all their games on Sunday. And it’s also what the WWE did before this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.
Take a look:
Of course, it’s pretty weird to see a bunch of grown men in speedos and face paint all standing around trying to look serious and dignified. But it’s the thought that counts. So good on the WWE.
Hats off to the fans in Greenville, South Carolina, too. They seem to have actually respected the “silence” part of the moment of silence, unlike certain NFL fans.
