Blake Griffin Perfectly Sums Up the Clippers-Warriors Rivalry
Will the Golden State Warriors ever lose another game? It doesn’t look that way after they overcame a 23-point, first-half deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers, 124-117, at the Staples Center last night, improving to 13-0 on the season.
It was just the latest chapter in this Western Conference rivalry between the Warriors and Clippers, although, Blake Griffin doesn’t seem interested in calling this match-up a “rivalry” at the moment. Here’s why (via Fox Sports’ Jovan Buha):
“I wouldn’t call this a rivalry. They’re the better team. They have the upper hand.”
Griffin is somewhat correct in his analysis, as the Warriors have owned the Clippers over the past two seasons (winning 5 of their 6 meetings). But that hasn’t made this match-up any less entertaining for the fans. And isn’t that the most important aspect of any great rivalry?
