Epic Fail: High School Football Ref Has No Idea If PAT Is Good, Has To Ask Photographer (Video)

If you like epic referee fails, you’re going to love this one. It comes to us from the Hawaii Division 1 high school football championship game between Kahuku and St. Louis this past Friday.

In the first quarter, after Kahuku had scored a touchdown, their kicker sliced his extra point kick to the right so that it was pretty close to the goal post. In fact, it was so close that the right post judge could not tell whether the kick was good or bad. So he asked the left post judge, who obviously didn’t know because he was paying attention to his side only. So the right post judge then turned around and asked a photographer. And after the shocked photographer raised his arms in the air (with a look on his face that said, “are you serious?”), the ref made the official call.

Take a look:

Yep, that’s embarrassing.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a pretty tough year to be a high school football ref. Players have been attacking you left, right, and center. You’re probably a bit shell-shocked.

But still, in the words of Chris Berman, c’mon man. You have to be able to make the easy calls!
